The rules for the 26th International Festival of Mountain and Adventure Films of Torelló edition, can be consulted from now on the web in the section “participants section”.
The films in contest, the application forms of which must be in Torelló before 20th September, will contend for some prizes worth 9.000 euros.
25th Torelló Mountain and Adventure Film Festival Prizes. 30/11/2007
The last 25th November the 25th edition of the International Torelló Mountain and Adventure Film Festival has finished with a great success among the audience. The Festival prices had out standing La montagne perdue as the Festival Great Prize and Dying for Everest another film to have in mind. These are the prizes:
PRIZES 2007
PRIZE TEMPS D’AVENTURA (Adventure time) to the best short film adapted to the TV format to: PATAGONIA DREAMS by M. Lecomte, O. Favresse, S.Villanueva and N. Favresse. Belgium.
PRIZE MOUNTAIN WILDERNESS to the film that best stands out the protection to the natural spaces to: MEGAFALLS OF THE IGUAÇÚ by Christian Baumeister. Germany.
PRIZE F.E.E.C. (Federació d´Entitats Excursionistes de Catalunya), and Silver Edelweiss to the best photography to: FACING OBSESSION by Jochen Schmoll. Germany.
PRIZE BOREAL and Silver Edelweiss to the best script to: DYING FOR EVEREST by Richard Dennison. New Zealand.
PLAQUE F.E.D.M.E. (Federación Española de Deportes de Montaña y Escalada) to the best film made by an Spanish film maker to: It has been declared void for the Jury.
PRIZE of the JURY and Silver Edelweiss to: SEARCHING FOR THE COAST WOLVES by Richard Matthews. Germany.
PRIZE to the best film about mountain ENVIRONMENT and Silver Edelweiss to: DIE MAGIE DER MONGOLEI by Heinz Leger. Austria.
PRIZE “GRANDVALIRA” to the best film about MOUNTAIN ESPORTS and Silver Edelweiss to: ALES SOBRE L’ANTÀRTIDA by David F. Miralles and Marc Martínez. Spain.
PRIZE “CAIXA SABADELL” and Silver Edelweiss to the best MOUNTAIN film and Silver Edelweiss to: DYING FOR EVEREST by Richard Dennison. New Zealand.
GRAND PRIZE “VILA DE TORELLÓ” and Golden Edelweiss to: LA MONTAGNE PERDUE by Christian Deleau. France.
The countdown has started: Today the first exposure will be inaugurated 13/11/2007
Even the Festival starts the next 16th, this Friday the first exposure of these 25th edition will be inaugurated: “25 anys de festival al setmanari Torelló”. The exhibition can be seeing in the Dos Rius library where today at 8:30h pm will be inaugurated. There you will be able to see the Festival evolution and the way to be treated along this quarter of century, in the pages of this local publication. On the one hand you will be able to see in the most Torelló commercial shops from 10th November the exhibition “L’aventura antàrtica – 1987 – 1913 –“. This exhibition is included in the International Year Polar Celebration, in which the Festival has been followed. Is for that, the next Tuesday, the professor Carles Padrós-Alió, will make a lecture in the Dos Rius Library, and the Thursday 15th, one day before the Festival starts, the explorer Ramón Larramendi, will make the second lecture.
FORESEEN ACTIVITIES OF THE 25TH EDITION - FROM 16TH TO 25TH NOVEMBER 2007 31/07/2007
The Mountain and Adventure Film Festival of Torelló gets this year its 25th edition, to be celebrated between 16th and 25th November. Like every year during these dates, we hand you a part of the programme, which will be dedicated, mainly, to the anniversary celebration.
25 years of Festival, mountaineering and climbing.
For this reason we have changed the Homage section, that every year was given to the main world wide referents of mountaineering or climbing, for two theme nights each one dedicated to these disciplines: mountaineering (17th November) and climbing (22nd November). Within them, in two round tables organized to be both open to the public, there will take part a dozen of the best mountaineers and climbers of the last quarter of
the century, like Mick Fowler, Krzyztof Wielicki, Marko Prezelj, Silvo Karo or Josune Bereziartu. During these 25 years, Festival, mountaineering and climbing have evolved together and this is what we want to show with this experience and also with a parallel exhibition available during the Festival days. Among the activities organized by the Festival, there is an exhibition and two lectures, included within the Polar International Year, initiative that Torelló has embraced.
New corporative image and poster
Also, coinciding with the celebration, the Foundation that organizes the Festival, has changed its corporative image, substituting the 1987 one, for this 25th edition one. Both made by the same author, the designer Josep Jaumira, who wishes to show the obtaining of the summits, not only the Festival ones, to arrive to its 25 years, but also the film protagonists’ ones.
The term to enter expires on 20th September
Finally, we remain you that the term to enter the films in the Competitive section expires on 20th September. A total amount of more than 9.000 euros will be given out into 9 different categories. The same term is applied for the ones who wish to participate in the third edition of the Caixa Sabadell Mountain and Adventure journalism Award, where stand out the best articles and reports published in Spain.
